Records are meant to be Broken

The Chicago Red Stars signed Mallory Swanson to a NWSL record five-year contract worth a little more than $2.5M guaranteed. This breaks the record contract between the Houston Dash and Maria Sanchez that was signed less than a month ago. By the time the season kicks off, I imagine Swanson's deal will be eclipsed and we will discussing record NWSL attendance and franchise valuation, as we watch the matches via a record setting broadcast deal.

When it comes to Women's Sports, records are falling every day. New standards are being set nearly every week for attendance, viewership, salaries, broadcast rights or franchise value. We are in a period of massive growth and expansion across all women's sports. Every record that is set today is celebrated quickly and becomes the target for others to surpass tomorrow. From college to the pros, the growth is absolutely something to keep an eye on.

Sports Business classes - - what is the next big record that will fall? What is the next women's sport that is on the verge of massive growth? Is there a limit to the growth potential? How would you advise the NWSL or the WNBA to capitalize on the opportunity ahead over the next 2 years? What would success look like?
